Created in 1989, Garcelles Golf Course opened 18 holes in 2001, with nine new holes designed by Yves BUREAU. Six holes were built through the woods giving the course a new look. Now on the front nine, the fairways are wide and long but the vegetation gives it a real relief and the back nine holes are quite short but very technical. One goes from one setting to another; this variety enables you to avoid monotony and to alternate power and technique (the 7th hole is a Par 5 of 578m - 632 yards) but after that one should then put the driver away and keep with the irons...and the putter.
The Greens at Garcelles are often on high plateaus, Yves BUREAU who altered most of this course (7th, 8th, 9th) embellished it with several water hazards and the wooded part is a trap. Moreover, four quite long and narrow Par 4's, do not offer much club choice....the 12th, 14th, 16th and 18th (Par 5's) have all fearsome - very narrow fairways that you either have to go in or get out of ...the end of the course is beautiful with big trees. On the golf side, with a Par 70 but a SSS of 69, players of all levels are welcome at Garcelles. From the back tees the FFG slope rate is 125 making it an average course in difficulty and its 5 716 m - 6 232 yards make it an enjoyable course to play, neither physical nor tiring. A lot of golfers start at Garcelles with it's superb practice range (30 lanes) and it's compact six holes (Par 20).
Facilities are a Pro-shop, a covered driving range, a pitch and putt facility, a 6 hole compact, a practice bunker and a putting green. Bar and Snack area.
