Hawkstone golf course is a classic parkland course with mature trees flanking the fairways and breathtaking views of the Shropshire countryside.
Converted into a full 18 hole course in 1920 and masterfully redesigned by James Braid in 1930.
Restored by Alex Lyle to all its former glory by the resident Professional and Head Green-keeper in 1955.
The Championship golf course is the more recent addition to the resort having been originally designed by Alex Lyle in 1975 as a concise and compact par 66 course named the Weston.
This course was redesigned by previous Ryder Cup captain Brian Huggett in 1955 as the
Windmill course after the iconic remnant which is still visible from the
16th hole.
Now a much more open golf course with many water hazards and
undulating fairways which has subsequently been renamed the
Championship course.
An 18 hole, par 72 parkland course measuring 6,763 yards which is able to provide a good test of golf to players of all abilities.
