Overview San Domenico Golf
San Domenico Golf, is an 18 hole championship course which is ranked among the best in Italy. The links borders the crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea and has hosted the European Challenge Tour Grand Final, the most important event on this tour with an elite 45 man field.
Designed by European Golf Design, architects of Celtic manor, Portmarnock Links and PGA Catalunya, the course is spread across undulating hills with sea views from every vantage point. The landscape of the course runs through a plantation of olive trees and stone walling was retained around the site along with unique waste areas, made of local rock, ensure the layout retains it's links identity.
As is characteristic of a links the wind plays a significant role and requires every shot in the bag; combine with excellent bunkering and clever greens and San Domenico is a challenging course for everyone who tees it up. The ocean views are complemented by local flora and fauna which occupy the waste areas which traverse their way through the holes.
The clubhouse fits perfectly with the traditional Puglian aesthetic and serves up delicious snacks and meals.
