Opened after 4 year restoration the nine holes Mackenzie Ross original design from 1936 was converted into an exceptional 18 hole Championship golf course by Cameron & Powell.
The new part of the course has grown through thenatural valley landscape. Having 7 holes within the Centenary park and eleven in the natural valley makes an extraordinary contrast and diversity that works very well.
The reconstructed tee boxes are surronded with granit rocks taken from the landscape. All tees and greens were constructed to USGA specification. Low handicap golers will find this a challenge with strategicly plassed bunkers and large shaped greens but higher hancicaps can also enjoy this layout aswell.
A visit to Vidago Golf Course is not complete without a visit to the Clubhouse. The antique and beautiful stone building (1886) was once the main Vidago Mineral Water's bottling facility. It has been restored to a modern interior decoration standard by architect Alvaro Siza Vieira.
A modern open plan kitchen & bar area allow for a great after round meal and relaxation.
